Waterproofing membranes have improved over the years. It is more than just a barrier to water it must be able to withstand movement in the joints, wall and floor junctions.

Ideally a good waterproofing membrane should:

- Protect the substrate from moisture

- Have a high stress resistance to movement

- Able to be bonded with tiles and other materials with ease

- High resistance to chemical and abrasion products

- Easy to apply safe to handle and non toxic
